Used car history report

Used car history report is a report which can help you to make the right choise when you are buying a vehicle. It includes the following checks about particular car:


Title Check:

  • Salvaged - go here to find more information about what is salvage and rebuild titles.
  • Rebuilt
  • Fire Damage - this occurs when the vehicle has sustained a damage from fire.
  • Damaged - The vehicle has sustained significant damage to the body and/or mechanical components.

Problem Check:

  • Frame Damage - this is a case, when a wholesale Auto Auction has reported that the vehicle has frame damage. The damage is significant and cal lead to weakness of the vehicle structure.
  • Lemon - this is a case when after a reasonable amount of attempts the authorized dealer is unable to conform a new vehicle to any of its applicable express warranties. The manufacturer shall either accept the return of the vehicle from its customer and refund the purchase price paid for the vehicle less a reasonable allowance for use of the vehicle or provide him with a new vehicle of a like model line, if available, or otherwise comparable vehicle as a replacement. Lemon laws varies from state to state or may not exist in all states.
  • Salvage Auction - this is a case when a car is offered on an auto auction and it has reported as salvaged vehicle. The reason and the extent of damage are uknown.
  • Water Damage - Any vehicle Title issued to an insurance company due to payment of a claim for flood damage sustained. If issued to a licensed rebuilder, who possesses or acquires a vehicle that is designated as, or for which evidence or information of a "flood vehicle" has been provided, the vehicle is considered a salvage vehicle and designated on an Application for Salvage Certificate in an insurance company or licensee's name.

Odometer Check

  • Rolled Back - in this case a wholesale Auto Auction has reported a possible odometer rollback. This means the odometer has been tampered with or adjusted.
  • Broken - in this case the odometer doesn't record a driven distance.
  • Exceeds Limit - when the odometer records a lower driven distance than actual.
  • Suspect Miles - The state or other authorized officials have identified that the vehicle's mileage is suspect due to odometer tampering or other incidents.

Vehicle Use & Event Check

  • Accidents - Accidents are reported by state agencies, police departments and other sources and varies from state to state.
  • Theft - The vehicle was stolen from its legal owner.
  • Police/Taxi Use - The vehicle was reported as previously used by a police agency or as a taxi.
  • Fleet Car - The vehicle is or was operated as a fleet vehicle.
